Rolex Air-King (2001)

The Air-King is one of the most famous Rolex references. In my opinion, this iteration is the most compact one, carrying all the aspects I like about a Rolex: the Oyster case, the Twinlock crown, the in-house automatic caliber 3000, in a clean 34mm package with no date to interrupt the dial.

This example is a reference 14010 from 2001, with the engine-turned bezel and a deep blue sunburst dial that shifts from almost black to bright blue depending on the light. The case and Oyster bracelet are in excellent condition, with clean brushing and sharp lines.

It comes as a full set, straight from Japan, where watches are kept with a care that is hard to find elsewhere: box, outer box, booklets, spare link, and the original guarantee dated April 2001.

The Air-King name goes back to the 1940s, a tribute to RAF pilots, which makes it one of the longest-running names in the Rolex catalogue.
