IWC CALIBER 89 18k YG {w/ box&papers}
Sometimes we sell more than a watch, we sell the story that comes with it and the life it lived until today.
Here we have an IWC caliber 89 produced in 1961, gifted to Alfred Bächtold in 1962 for 25 years of loyal service at Georg Fischer AG, a Swiss industrial giant.
Engraved on the back, his story is still there: a career, a recognition, a life milestone.
And yet the watch survives with its original box, warranty papers, and the timeless precision and stability of the caliber 89.
You can clearly see the gold hallmarks (a sign it was probably only very slightly polished) and the buckle&strap are original IWC.
The case is 35mm wide, in 18k yellow gold of pure joy on the wrist.
The watch comes with a timegrapher report showing amplitude, rate, and beat error, proof of its mechanical health, plus a one-year warranty on the movement.
Not just a timepiece. A testimony of time itself.
