For those who aren’t familiar, the ref. 2577 was the first Seamaster reference, released around 1948.
It was a period when Omega liked to experiment, especially with dials, and this example shows that spirit perfectly.
It features four solid rose-gold arrowhead markers at 12, 3, 6, and 9, the same style that later became famous on early Constellations.
Look closer and you’ll notice the unusual “T T T” minute track, with serifed Ts at each quarter. Only a handful of dials with this layout are known, and together with the crosshair design, it makes the watch instantly recognisable.
Inside is one of the first chronometer-rated caliber 354 bumpers, freshly serviced.
The rose-gold capped case and matching Omega Beads of Rice bracelet (ref. 1502 with 11 end links) make this example even more special, since very few were made like this, and even fewer survive in this condition.
The set is composed by the watch and a rare red service Omega box, plus two additional links from the pink gold capped bracelet.
